How To Make Tofu At Home

History of Tofu Whether you are vegetarian or not, Tofu is very much attractive meal item. Because it can be mixed with others well, and can be complete dish alone. As you know Tofu comes from Asia. People there have used it since centuries ago. Asia where has heavy rain and fluent green farms was ideal continent for their residents. By the way all countries were divided by monarchies and nobles. They have occupied all good things, and have fought to have more and more. People who have lived under their rules were suffered by poverty, hunger, taxes and duties. Rulers have called their people, people have had to go to fight anytime. The rich have became more richer, the poor have became more poorer. Tofu is needed lot of green beans, however it could replace on real meat. Long ago ordinary –but poor – people would suppose to eat Tofu for their celebrities and memorial days instead of meat which was taken by only monarchies, nobles and riches.


In 20century Tofu started to be focused as ‘a perfect protein supplier’. However there is one more reason why Tofu is well known as an excellent food . It is the typical growth of Asia where the background of Tofu. China is the 1st runner in the world stage, Japan of Sony follows, South Korea of Samsung and Taiwan are never –stop- runners. Singapore, Malaysia, India and Philippine have brilliant brains. Thailand and Indonesia also very develop countries. No one need Tofu instead of meat because of poverty. People can eat Tofu anytime anywhere. Tofu is not expensive anymore. It is just one of popular cooking source. Although time is changed, however, people still enjoy Tofu and make variable menus with it. People who were suffered from diabetes, high blood pressure and heavy weight liked. Vegetarians also welcomed. Children who hate beans like Tofu as well.

How to make Tofu at Home

The fact that Tofu is difficult to make at home is well known. Only rare people try or like because the price of product is cheap from market, and people in modern times is too busy to make some food at home. The bad news came out suddenly that some ‘bad’ manufacturers added ‘non-adaptable sources’ on Tofu processing. What they used is very harmful to our health. People started to find the way how to make ‘easily’ Tofu by manual for family. Lots of book related Tofu are published. I started to make Tofu at home since 10years ago. Because I live in Africa, but it was not easy to find market to buy Tofu although I like it so much. Therefore there was only way for me to eat Tofu anytime. Make it at Home!

Now here we go-
Ingredient] black bean 1C, white bean 1C, pinch of salt, vinegar 1Ts
Preparation] square cotton material, bog bowl, big dip pot with cover, wooden stick, steam tray which has holes
How to make]
a) Wash beans well, and leave in water for not less than 6hours
b) Blend a) with water ratio 2:1
c) Prepare big dip bowl
d) Open cotton material on steam tray. And put all these on c)
e) Pour b) on d) little by little, and squeeze. Remove the remain from cotton material in a container. You can use these for other cooking. Therefore you have to collect all the remains in a container and keep in fridge.
f) The bean water from e). You use this to make Tofu. Move the bean water to big dip pot and start to boil with low heat
g) Add vinegar and stir well with wooden stick.
h) Add pinch of salt
i) Stir until you can see WHITE SOLID. Put off the fire when it starts to boil.
j) Stir slowly then the white sold will fill out the pot
k) Make j) cool down little bit
l) Put k) in the other container and cover it with hard board paper (or plate). Press on it with heavy mugs
m) Keep l) for not less than 2hours
n) Remove mugs and papers from m), and cover with its own cover
o) Store n) in fridge, and use whenever you want to cook.
